Have had no problems with vpn connections until the one user started using windows 7 He can connect to the vpn and the sbs2008 server gives him an IP address from the sbs2008 network but none of the network resources are available. cannot ping either. The users IP address is different than the sbs2008 network. SBS 2008 has a VPN Connection Wizard which you access through the Admin Console > Network > Connectivity. This configures the server for PPTP connections. PPTP is convenient because the client has been part of Windows for years, but it is vulnerable to dictionary-based password attacks and therefore should only be used with strong passwords. I did install SBS 2008 and try to use RWW but have some difficulties. RWW within the LAN work perfectly but when I try to access it outside the LAN I cannot connect. I use a Domain hosting company. SBS 2008 - Server 2008 site to site vpn problem

I have a SBS 2008 here that was previously configured with VPN access for users. I remember it was a fight getting that goingand has worked fine since. Well, unfortunately, I had to change IP addresses this weekend on it. I have used the GUI to do everything, thinking that is the way SBS likes it. The VPN connection to the SBS 2008 server works from a Windows XP Pro machine and a Windows 7 Pro machine from the same location as the Win 7 Home PC , so we know the VPN has been correctly configured at the server end with the correct ports opened.
